Janine Stewart and Stephen Price together with experienced expert James White will hold an interactive session on the role of the expert witness in construction disputes, and debate the common tensions that typically arise in the expert / lawyer relationship.

The session will cover:

  • an overview of the role of the expert witness in construction disputes and the law that governs that role

  • how New Zealand law on expert evidence compares to other jurisdictions

  • common tensions that arise in the expert/ lawyer relationship and why - including scope, advocacy and presentation of evidence.
