Fire Safety and ACP Cladding – Could Grenfell happen here?

Presented by Helen Macfarlane Hesketh Henry Litigation and Dispute Resolution partner with specialist expertise in construction law.

Helen will examine the nature of the problem with ACP cladding and the current regulatory and compliance position in New Zealand.

We will consider the potential liability of responsible parties as well as possible responses from the private sector (insurance) and the public sector (regulatory), including an examination of the various initiatives that have been proposed across Australian jurisdictions in the wake of the Lacrosse fire. Finally, we will discuss some practical ways to try to manage the risks of constructing, purchasing or owning a building with ACP cladding.
